古琴的龍齦與冠角是構成琴尾的重要部件之一,也是承載著琴弦擺動發聲的的另一端。而它的鑲嵌貼合與精度直接影響了弦擺動傳遞震動到琴身的效率,更因為龍齦與冠角的設計與雕刻,會在整張琴的視覺氣質中佔有相當的比重。
古琴配件可以選用硬木自行切割造型,或批量選購與存放後進行後期的匹配修改正,但兩種方法各有其局限性與優點。而選用現有採購的配件進行二次加工則需要對琴身和配件進行反復預估量與匹配,從而在隨後的加工過程中達到相當的精度。
所以在實際操作中的每一步都需要留有一定的餘量進行修正。而尤其在龍齦鑲嵌最終階段,是否與琴身中軸線與第四弦垂直,則需要在重視畫線精度、雕刻平整度、鑲嵌餘量、粘合順序等。至於鑲嵌深度與高起琴面則因應操作經驗進行預估,以確保後期裹佈、刮粗中細灰、雕刻配件後能夠彼此相互平齊。

As for the embed depth and the raised Qin surface, it is estimated based on the operating experience to ensure that the cloth layer thickness, Lacquer ash thickness, and the engraving accessories can be flat with each other.
